The NY Times has an interesting article about the curious fact that those on the left of the political spectrum are finding themselves on the same side as those on the right in their opposition to the problem of over-criminalization. When both sides agree on anything, there surely must be a problem!

I've addressed some of the arguments against over-criminalization in a recent paper, positing that criminalization without incarceration may be a second-best alternative to decriminalization for certain offenses. Check it out here.
