US Health Care Reform Bill Passed by Senate

The US Senate has just passed a bill to reform the health care system and provide affordable medical insurance for about 31 million people who had no insurance. There is a lot of work to be done before the bill becomes law - it has to be merged with a bill passed by the House of Representatives and hard bargaining with special interests will be needed. Still, it is the most important policy development in the US in several decades and has to be celebrated.
